
A Dutch cardinal has cautioned the incoming pope to remain strong in the church’s dogmas and to kick against gay lobbying.
The Cardinal who is known for being vocal about the immediate past pope, made this information as he conversed with a newspaper house in Italy.
The cardinal asserted that it was time for the church to go back to the doctrine, which is her guiding principle. Also, Gerhard cautioned the forthcoming Catholic Church’s papal to remain rooted on the church, doctrines, ideologies. He also instructed that the new incoming should be ready and willing to go against any form liberal principles.
Buttressing his point, Cardinal noted that the church has principles which are contained its doctrines and its properly formed ideologies. He further noted that things like heresy and gender issues are begining to wiggle their way into the church and the forthcoming pope must stand againt it.
Further, Gerhad Ludwig Muller opined that church’s doctrine does not belong to the pope, neither does it belong to the bishop or lay-faithful. He added that whatever the church does must be in line with Jesus’s words. He also noted that the doctrines should not be adjusted to suit anyone. The conservative cardinal said that If Jesus’s word insists that the holy matrimony should only take place between male and female, the doctrine should not be changed by anyone. The controversial cardinal further kikced the idea of making the unions of the same sex to be equalled with the church’s matrimony, stating that it is against the church’s principles.
Cardinal Gerhard’s statement came few days after the death and burial of Pope Francis. Following the death of Pope Francis, all cardinals around the world have gathered together in Rome with doors closed to observe the conclave. Also, the church in general waits in prayer to see who the new Papal Pontiff would be.
