Tinubu’s minister, Yusuf Tuggar reveals what he did that made Bauchi governor and deputy want to slap him

Minister for foreign affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has given explanation to the report about his being slapped by the Bauchi state deputy governor, Auwal Jatau.
Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar while speaking to BBC Hausa, narrated the events that transpired during vice president Kashim Shettima’s visit to Bauchi state in April.
Speaking to BBC Hausa, the minister of foreign affairs revealed that it was not the Bauchi state deputy governor, Auwal Jatau who wanted to slap him but his principal, governor Bala Mohammad.
According to the minister, the issue started when vice president Kashim Shettima who was on same vehicle with Bala Mohammad and himself asked him a question which was unconnected to Bauchi State or governor Bala Mohammad. He said while he attempted to provide response to vice president Kashim that governor Bala Mohammad interrupted him and started speaking derogatorily. He said the governor hauled insults at him and his late father who had died 20 years ago. While the altercation went on, governor Bala Mohammad who was visibly infuriated, threatened to slap him in the presence of vice president Kashim Shettima.
Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar explained further that while the altercation went on as he challenged the governor over his statement that he would slap him, the deputy governor who was afar from the scene, arrived and also threatened to slap him as his principal.
The minister explained that he challenged the governor over his threats and reminded him that if they were left alone in a room that he would not dare threaten him nor try to slap him.
Recall that in April, there were reports about Bauchi state deputy governor, Auwal Jatau engaging in an altercation with minister of foreign affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar; an altercation that degenerated into the deputy governor slapping the minister – a report the minister has now debunked.
The event happened when vice president Kashim Shettima visited Bauchi state for the turbanning ceremony of former governor of Bauchi state, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar who was crowned the Makama Babba I of the Bauchi Emirate.
