Rauf Ayegbesola breaks silence following his expulsion from APC
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ex political ally turned foe and former governor of Osun state, Rauf Ayegbesola who was a few days expelled from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), has made his first public statement since his controversial sack from the APC.
Rauf Ayegbesola was expelled from the APC over his alleged anti-party activities.
Through his X (Twitter) handle, Aregbesola revealed his recent encounter with one Sikiru Olaboye who in 2006, reportedly made an attempt at his life, to assasin@te him during the 2006 Oroki Day Celebration in Osun state.
Ayegbesola in a lengthy tweet, disclosed that the self-confessed assailant, Sikiru Olaboye had phoned into Fresh 104.9FM Osogbo program to seek his forgiveness. Ayegbesola further noted that he has forgiven the said man who made attempt at his life in 2006 and that he harbours no ill-feeling against him.
He wrote: “Earlier today, I received Sikiru Olaboye, one of the men who attempted to assassinate me during the 2006 Oroki Day Celebration in Osogbo.
“I was informed that he called into a local radio station in Osogbo a few weeks ago to seek my forgiveness.”
“I assured him that I hold no grudges against him or anyone else involved,” he said
