Peter Obi finally reacts to Sowore claim that he met Tinubu to beg him over Fidelity bank debt
Popular Nigerian presidential candidate in 2023, Peter Obi has reacted to claims by controversial activist cum politician, Omoleye Sowore about his meeting president Tinubu in Rome to plead with the president over Fidelity bank debt.

Omoleye Sowore in his reaction to the photos, accused Peter Obi of secretly working for president Bola Ahmed Tinubu while disguising as an astute and a politician of integrity.
He thereafter alleged that Peter Obi who was “all smile” during his meeting with Tinubu in Rome, had secretly pleaded with president Tinubu during the brief meeting to intervene in the recent Supreme Court ruling against Fidelity bank. Sowore claimed that Peter Obi owes Fidelity bank and seeks the president’s intervention.
However, Peter Obi while responding to Sowore through his X handle, described him as a paid “blackmailer-in-chief”. He debunked Sowore claims of his meeting with the president to seek his assistance as false, malicious, and misleading. He urged him to desist from such wickedness. He also offered prayers requesting that God enables his blackmailers to understand their mission on earth and that life itself is transient.
“The self-proclaimed “blackmailer-in-chief” and others who thrive on spreading pain and falsehoods have also claimed that I own Fidelity Bank. For the record, I do not. Throughout my career, I have served as Chairman/Director of 3 banks/Financial institutions, of which Fidelity is one of them. Fidelity has over 500,000 shareholders, none of whom hold a majority stake. What this blackmailer seeks is to harm these hard-working Nigerians and cause them needless distress”
“To those peddling these falsehoods, and engaging in blackmail, I offer a simple prayer: May God grant you the virtues of gratitude and understanding to know that we came here with nothing and will go with nothing, that they cannot profit from their evil way”, Obi wrote in part
