Kenneth Okonkwo names the candidate capable of defeating Tinubu in 2027
Ex-member and spokesperson of the Labour Party 2023 presidential campaign council, Kenneth Okonkwo has responded to the agitation by Peter Obi supporters for Peter Obi to be given the coalition party presidential ticket in 2027.
Kenneth Okonkwo while speaking on Channels Tv, warned that the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its members must be strategic about its zoning of its presidential ticket in 2027. Kenneth Okonkwo stated that if the ADC gives its presidential ticket to Peter Obi or any southern politician that such would amount to Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.
He explained that the ADC must avoid giving its presidential ticket to a southerner amid the agitation for Peter Obi. He added that only a Northern politician who is popular across the Northern states will be capable of defeating president Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Kenneth Okonkwo added that he will only support such a politician with such quality for the 2027 presidential election.
“No southerner can ever take out a southerner as the President of Nigeria. It is a bad strategy. It can not work. ADC should pick it’s Presidential candidate from the north to win Tinubu in 2027”, he said.
Despite being at the forefront of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign, Kenneth Okonkwo has recently become critical of Peter Obi’s political calculations and movement. He recently accused Peter Obi of being responsible for the Labour Party’s internal crisis due to his inaction.
