Controversial Nigerian hip hop singer, Burna Boy born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu has again stirred up controversy about himself.
Burna Boy who self-identifies as the African giant, in his usual intimidating demeanor claims that he does not shave his armpit hair. A surprising revelation that adds little or nothing to his music career but puts his hygiene philosophy to question.
The Nigerian music superstar explained that he sometimes shaves his beard but never does so to his armpit hair which he said smells nice, makes him look attractive, as well as offer him some comfort.
He added that he is committed to keeping his armpit clean through regular washing. He thereafter appeal to those who might consider his unshaved armpit hair irritating not to look at it.
In his words: “I have the cleanest and and most properly kept armpit hair on earth. Ask anyone who has been around me and they will tell you that I smell good. As the African Giant, I can shave my beard inorder to look my age but I need my armpit hair to keep me comfortable and absorb sweat. I wash my armpits all the time and girls find my armpit hairs s3xy. So if my armpits irritate you don’t look at them.”
Since his coming into limelight in 2012, Burna Boy’s name has become synonymous to the Nigeria music industry. He is alongside Davido and Wizkid the most prominent names of Nigeria music artists at the global stage.
However, the singer’s rise to global relevance came at the expense of sense of decorum and humility. He has emerged the most vociferous, impassive, and arrogant of the trio. The Grammy award winner is constantly in the news for these trait which have become part of his music brand and identity.
