How Peter Obi disappointed me and why I am supporting Tinubu – Segun Sowunmi
Former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign council, Segun Sowunmi has stated that Peter Obi is his biggest disappointment ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Segun Sowunmi who spoke on Arise Tv following his meeting with president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and declaration of his willingness to work with the Nigeria’s president, faulted Peter Obi for his lack of interest in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Segun Sowunmi revealed that he had persuaded the Labour Party 2023 presidential candidate to return to the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections. He said Obi’s willingness to work with the coalition party is a big disappointment to him.
According to him, those championing the coalition are self-centered people who do not have the interest of the masses in their heart.
He said if Peter Obi returned to PDP, he would by his popularity, put a formidable opposition against the ruling party as well as be better positioned to defeat president Tinubu in 2027.
He added that in his private discussion with Peter Obi that he told the former governor of Anambra state that if by May 29th, 2025 that Obi is yet to make up his mind over returning to the PDP, he would start supporting president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
