Hakeem Baba Ahmed reveals the kind of relationship between Tinubu and Shettima

Former Political adviser to the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has in his interview on Channels Tv’s politics today, shedded light on the relationship between Vice President Kashim Shettima and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

 

When asked by Seun to tell Nigerians how presidential  Bola Tinubu and vice president Kashim Shettima relate,  Baba-Ahmed asserted that he had never had a chat with president Bola Tinubu; rather, during his days under service, he was chatty with the VP. From what he gathered from the VP, there’s no atom of bad blood between duo

When asked if he thinks PBAT is sidelining the vice president, he noted that through his interaction with the vice president, he cannot relate that he feels sidelined, that he  feels carried along on all fronts.

He added that despite the fact that he was unable  to have a direct relationship with president Bola Ahmed Tinubu while he served as a political adviser to his party, he understands that both relates well and maintain mutual respect.

He further stated that when he looked at them, all he saw was two persons: a president and his vice working hand-in-hand peacefully.

By the way, the question was posed to clear the air on the report that the president keeps his vice in the dark and doesn’t carry him along.

Recall that last month, reports had it  that President Tinubu doesn’t work well with his vice president Kashim Shettima and he may be considering replacing him as his running mate with Kwankwaso in 2027.

Hakeem Baba Ahmed who had served under Tinubu’s administration as an adviser on political matters aims to counter the insinuations that president Tinubu and his vice president, Kashim Shettima have soured relationship that has degenerated into the VP being relegated while president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu has taken over the natural role of the vice president.

On his resignation from his position, Hakeem Baba Ahmed had revealed that he left because he noticed a level of lack of commitment in Tinubu’s tenure.

He specifically stated that the lack of commitment is shown in the way the presidency fails to address urgent issues facing the country. He further expressed his lack of fulfillment and dissatisfaction in his former job as a political advisor, disclosing that his contribution was limited.
