Governor Hyaccinth Alia names those sponsoring attacks in Benue state

The governor of Benue state, Hyaccinth Alia has revealed the group of persons sponsoring violent attacks in Benue state.

The governor while speaking on Channels Tv Politics Today, revealed that the recent violent attacks in Benue state which have claimed many lives, are being sponsored by politicians in the Nigeria’s National Assembly. He said these politicians aim to distabilize the state for their selfish political interest and pursuit.

Governor Hyacinth Alia stated that the Judicial Panel of Inquiry which he set up has in its preliminary report after investigating the violent attacks in Benue state, indicted some notable members of the national assembly who though are representing the Benue people but do not wish them peace.

He added that he will take a bold step in coming days to name those politicians after the panel of inquiry has released its full report.

There have been incessant violent attacks on the citizens of Benue state; attacks which in the past have been linked to herders and farmers crisis.

However, recent unfolding developments suggest that the attacks have some political undertones as the state governor has claimed.
