Governor Adeleke finally speaks on his defection rumour

Defection to a new party seems to be the new cool in the Nigerian political scene.
Recall that in April, prominent members of the PDP stepped away from the PDP to join the ruling party.
However there are still some governors whose loyalty strongly lies with PDP like Ademola Adeleke of Osun State who has announced that he is not pulling out of the opposition party, PDP to the ruling party. He released the information at the PDP Osun State branch leader’s meeting on Wednesday.
Reports noted that the meeting took place at the Government House’s Banquet Hall. In attendance at the meeting were high-level leaders of the party from the Osun Branch.
Speaking at the meeting, Adeleke assured his party members that he has no need to pull out of the PDP. His statement is a response to the rumour that the uncle to Nigerian superstar, Davido was planning to join his other colleagues in the APC. Some other reports stated that he had already left the party.
The rumour about the governor’s defection began not long after Okowa and others moved to the APC.
However, Governor Adeleke debunked the rumour and asserted that it was the handiwork of persons who dislike the state’s progress and development under his tenure.
Openly at the meeting, Adeleke addressed the people, elders and chiefs of the party, stating that he stood before them to announce that PDP is his party and he has no plans of moving to another party, including the APC.
Meanwhile, the jovial governor seems to be finding himself in controversies of recent. He has been entangled in a political crisis that has led to him being accused of destabilizing his administration.
