Globally known Nigerian pastor and founder of Living Faith Worldwide, bishop David Oyedepo has narrated how Late Pope Francis created an indelible mark on his life.
David Oyedepo on 27th of April while ministering at Faith Tabernacle in Sango Otta, Ogun state, eulogized Pope Francis for his lifestyle which he said exemplified love and care for humanity.
Bishop Oyedepo pointed out that what the late Pope stood for and the manner he lived resonates with his heart and teaches believers how they must always strive to care for one another.
He explained that following the Pope’s passing, his old friend sent him a quote credited to the late Pope.
According to bishop Oyedepo, Pope Francis had in his propagation of love for humanity, cited that “trees do not eat their own fruits”.
Bishop Oyedepo explained thereafter that the Late Pope’s illustration using trees and their fruits created an unforgettable impression in his heart; impression which is typical of how life should be lived.
He urged the congregation to abide by the Pope’s remark necessary for them to stop “living for themselves”.
He enjoined them to lookout for the needy and less privileged to take care of – he said “that is how a believer’s life must be. He must live for others; not just for himself”.
