Akpabio speaks on INEC professor imprisoned for committing electoral fraud in his favour

Senator Godwills Akapbio has separated himself from professor Daniel Ogban who was recent convicted of of electoral fraud by the Nigeria’s court of Appeal
The Senator president while reacting to the report that the said convict had manipulated electoral exercise in 2019 to his favour, stated that he didn’t have any dealings with the professor nor the professor manipulate result in his favour as widely reported.
Senate president Godwill Akpabio through media aide, Anniete Ekong, claims hat the reports are untrue unfounded, only channelled at destroying his image as a person and as a politician. He stated this assertion through his media person, Anniete Ekong.
Akpabio also added that rather than be seen as the villain, he was a victim of heavy electoral crimes which happened back in the NorthWestern part of his state during the polls on February 23rd, 2019
The statement further asserted that Akpabio has moved past the period of being a victim of electoral crimes to becoming the head of the upper chamber of Nigerian lawmakers . It also added that the former Akwa Ibom State governor would appreciate his attention not being stolen by baseless accusations and scrupulous reports by mischievous persons.
Meanwhile the source of Akpabio’s speech isn’t far fetched. The senator’s media person responded to a claim by an INEC official who asserted that he had carried out electoral crimes in his state in favour of Nigeria’s number 3 citizen.
Recall that a few days back, Professor Daniel Ogban, an INEC official stated before a judge that he manipulated electoral results in favour of the APC in the 2023 polls. He specifically mentioned that he committed electoral crimes at the 2023 polls in favour of the former Akwa Ibom State Governor. The affirmation led to his being sentenced to prison for electoral crimes committed in favour of the APC.
