Controversial actor and movie producer, Yul Edochie has stirred controversy online through his claim about foreign religions in Africa inflicting untimely deaths on the African youths.

The vociferous actor through his Instagram page, warned that the prevalence of early deaths among indigenous African youths including Nigerian youths can be attributed to foreign religions which have displaced hitherto traditional worship indigenous to the African people.

He added that the African gods are angry over the manner they have been relegated and abandoned for the white man’s religions. According to him, because these foreign religions came at the expense of the indigenous one, the African gods are unhappy; hence, the  untimely deaths among the African youths.

“Too many premature deaths these days. Young people dying in their twenties, thirties, forties. It is not normal”.

Yul Edochie further stated that the abnormal death rate among the youths should not be overlooked or handled feebly. He appealed to the African people to revert to the traditional worship which he described as a powerful and true means of worship.

“It is happening because we have abandoned our traditional ways and embraced the ways of oyinbo people.

“The spirits that protect many of us and our lands are angry because they have been relegated”.

“We must go back to our traditional ways, which are very pure and powerful.”

However, his opinion has been received with varying contrasting reactions from his followers and fans.

One of those who commented on his call for Africans to revert to traditional worship, sarcastically asked him why he dedicated his child from Judy Austin, his second wife to God in a church rather than a shrine. He was thereafter accused of seeking attention of the public through his adjudged questionable opinions.
