Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has sparked fresh controversy by accusing the mother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, of withholding crucial details regarding her son’s death. The outspoken activist made these claims in a recent social media post and video, questioning her role in the ongoing quest for justice.

In his statement, VDM said, “This whole case don turn to nonsense because people wey suppose dey talk don collect money keep quiet. Mohbad’s mother, wetin dem promise you? You dey do press conference, but you no want make truth come out.” His comments followed a press conference where Mohbad’s mother fiercely defended her other son when actor Yomi Fabiyi alleged that the singer’s brother demanded ₦3 million for a video showing a confrontation between Mohbad and his wife.

VDM also redirected public attention to Naira Marley and Sam Larry, two individuals previously accused of harassing the late singer. “Mohbad did not get justice at the end of the day. The distraction was Naira Marley and Sam Larry. They themselves know what happened to the boy, but they covered it up.”

The controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death intensified following the release of his autopsy report from Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). According to the toxicology report, a non-lethal amount of diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, was found in his system, but the official cause of death remained inconclusive due to decomposition. This outcome has fueled speculation and dissatisfaction among Mohbad’s family and fans.

His family has since rejected the report and called for an independent post-mortem examination. They have also urged the Coroner’s Court to expedite hearings on their request for a more thorough investigation. Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command continues its probe, identifying nursing assistant Feyisayo Ogedengbe as the prime suspect. Ogedengbe allegedly administered three injections to Mohbad before he began vomiting and convulsing, eventually leading to his death.

Additionally, Naira Marley and Sam Larry were arrested as part of the investigation, with authorities examining their alleged involvement in Mohbad’s troubles prior to his passing. While both individuals were reportedly outside Nigeria when Mohbad died, their history with the late singer remains a key focus in the case.
