Vociferous senator representing Borno south in the current 10th senate assembly, has recounted how former senate president, Bukola Saraki betrayed him despite his contribution to his emergence as the Senate president.

Ali Ndume in an interview with Deutsche Welle (DW), said despite his effort to ensure Bukola Saraki emerged the president of the 8th senate assembly, he was later suspended by Saraki for eight months. He said he was also removed as the Senate majority leader while he received no salary across the eight months of his suspension.

Senator Ali Ndume claimed that the reason for his suspension by the 8th senate assembly was due to his commitment to speaking the truth at all times. He added that same commitment has made the 10th senate assembly under Godswill Akpabio to remove him as the Senate chief whip.

According to him, he will not relent in his commitment to speak truth always as well as his dedication to the wellbeing of the poor Nigerians. He described himself as a poor Nigerian who is committed to fighting for the interest of the poor.

Speaking on the current administration of president Tinubu, senator Ali Ndume alleges that the Tinubu’s administration has been “personalized” to serve the interest of a few elite at the expense of the common good of Nigerians.

He reminded president Tinubu that his government is operating on a democratic system; hence, it must be people centered, to serve the interest of the people against that of a powerful few.
