Portable acting under a spell, being manipulated – singer’s elder sister makes stunning revelations

The elder sister of Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly claimed that a family member is spiritually manipulating the artist, leading to his controversial behavior. This revelation has sparked widespread discussions among fans and the general public.

In a video that has gained significant traction on social media platforms, Portable’s sister expressed her concerns about her brother’s erratic actions. She alleged that a family member named Akeem is using supernatural means to control Portable’s behavior. She emphasized that Portable has been the primary supporter of their family, especially during her health challenges, and urged the public to hold Akeem accountable if anything adverse happens to her or the singer.

Gbemisola made this claim following Portable’s ongoing legal battle with the Ogun State Government. It was reported that on Thursday, the state government arraigned the singer, who is currently at large, for allegedly assaulting officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

Portable was arraigned alongside nine of his associates before the Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court by the Ogun State Police Command. However, speaking from his hideout, the singer pleaded with the government to release his associates from detention, stating that he is being “set up by certain individuals.”

Challenging the authorities to provide video evidence of the alleged assault, Portable further expressed his distress over the situation. He warned that the overwhelming frustration might push him to take his own life if the matter is not resolved.

The video has elicited a myriad of responses from Nigerians. Some individuals have expressed empathy, suggesting that external forces might be influencing Portable’s actions. A user commented, “She urges Nigerians to understand that Portable is not inherently a bad person and that his actions are being influenced by external forces.” Others have taken a more skeptical stance, attributing Portable’s behavior to personal choices rather than spiritual manipulation. A comment read, “Na lie, na wetin d boy dey, una go just dey blame juju for everything. Tell the poor boy to stop sm0king.”

This is not the first time Portable has crossed the police’s radar. In March 2023, the Ogun State Police Command issued a 72-hour ultimatum for the singer to report himself to the nearest police station or face arrest. This directive came after Portable was seen in a viral video confronting police officers at his bar in the Sango Ota area of Ogun State. The police alleged that despite multiple invitations, Portable failed to honor their summons, leading to his arrest on March 31, 2023. He was subsequently arraigned in court on charges including assault and theft of musical equipment. The court granted him bail totaling N800,000 with two sureties in like sum.

In May 2024, Portable faced another legal issue when he was arrested for allegedly failing to pay a remaining debt of ₦14 million after purchasing a ₦27 million Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. Videos circulated online showing the singer attempting to evade arrest by scaling a gate. He was eventually apprehended and taken into custody. Following his release, Portable declared himself a “police ambassador” and shared photos with high-ranking officers at the Lagos Police headquarters.

The claims made by Portable’s sister have added a new dimension to the public’s understanding of the singer’s behavior.
