The Nigeria Police Force public relation officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi has added to the controversy trailing his name amid his bantering of words with Omoleye Sowore over the legality of the elongation of IGP, Kayode Egbetokun’s tenure.
Seemingly surprising explanation in response to a sarcastic question from a curious Nigerian who subtly taunted the Nigeria Police Force over their alleged high-handedness against poor crime suspects but characteristic leniency towards wealthy or influential crime suspects.
The X (Twitter) user @TankoD48840 in reaction to Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi’s earlier tweet about the invitation of an Ogun state monarch filmed assaulting an elderly man, sought to know why the abus!ve monarch was invited to the police station rather than being arrested especially as his offence is in public domain.
“Nigerian with English Big Man invited and poor man arrested English pass English”, he wrote.
However, while responding to the subtle dig at the Nigeria Police Force, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi explained that in must cases, public servants who are under investigation are usually invited to the police station through the office they occupy.
He revealed that the abus!ve monarch in the viral video was invited by the police through the council of traditional rulers in Ogun state.
His tweet reads: “Let me clear this. Any public/servant servant under investigation of this nature is always invited through his office or head of civil service of the state or Federation as the case may be. The police went through the council of obas in the state to invite him as a traditional ruler. It’s allowed to invite the oba. He is still a suspect. Pls note”.
