
Wife of former Nigeria deputy senate president, Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu has been reportedly released from UK prison.
Daily Post reported that Ike Ekweremadu’s wife arrived Enugu state Nigeria on Tuesday, 22nd of January, 2025. She was reportedly welcomed home by elated indigenes of Enugu state particularly the Enugu-west senatorial district where her husband, Ike Ekweremadu had represented in the Senate across twelve years.
Recall that Ike Ekweremadu alongside with his wife and doctor Obinna Obeta were in 2023 sentenced to prison by a U.K court over their involvement in org@n harvesting plot against a twenty-one-year old street trader who was offered illegal reward to donate his organ to Ike Ekweremadu’s ailing daughter, Sonia.
While Ike Ekweremadu bagged nine years and eight months prison sentence, his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu was sentenced for four years and six months for limited involvement in the organ harvesting plot
However, Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu has reportedly been freed before the expiration of her jail term.
