Given the political tension following the setting of the scene for the 2027 elections in Nigeria, different prominent individuals have begun giving the takes, advice and criticisms, and Primate Ayodele is not left behind. Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual has mentioned some of the turns of events that would come with 2027 polls, laid out his criticisms and advice.
Addressing the journalist in Lagos State, he warned against an intending fight between the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribbadu and Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima. He cautioned Shettima to “stop sleeping” because this fight may cause him “to lose his place to Ribbadu.”
The Primate also addressed the issue of the Northern agenda, and mentioned the names of Nassir El-Rufai, the former Kaduna State Governor and his colleague from Kano, Rabiu Kwankwaso. He disclosed that there would be a setup of Northern agenda in an “attempt to tear Tinubu’s government apart,” but he knows that “ a lot of people are praying for Tinubu” whom he said “has the key and capacity.”
While he asserted that the Northern agenda “campaign” of setting the North against Tinubu’s government began last year, he took comfort in the fact that “Kwankwaso and these PDP governors can’t do anything.” Further downplaying what he sees as the El-Rufai plot, the Prophet noted that he doesn’t see what the former FCT minister can do, and in his words, there’s no need for anyone to try align himself with him. According to Ayodele, he doesn’t see any “team” in any El-Rufai’s alliance, and definitely, “not Atiku”.
Speaking of Atiku, the leader of the INRI Church criticised the former Vice president for “going from place to place.” He called him out for going to see the former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, whom he said doesn’t like the former VP and would never forgive him. To buttress his point, he bluntly told Atiku that his political vision has failed. He later advised the former VP to “stop doing that mumu and pick somebody to rule.” Noting that there are “vibrant people who are focused”, the Primate added that some politicians are afraid.”
In relation to Atiku “picking somebody to rule,” the Primate made some comments about other prominent politicians. He criticized the former lawmaker, Bukola Saraki for being afraid. Stretching his gaze to Obi, he asserted that the former Anambra State governor and the Nigerian youths’ champion “wouldn’t win without coalition.” Then to Jonathan, Ayodele said that the former president was afraid and didn’t “have the stamina” to be in the race.
Extending his take on the 2027 gubernatorial polls, the prophet strengthened the faith of Chukuma Solude, the current governor of Anambra State and the governor of Ekiti State, asserting that anyone who goes up against them “would fail.” To his kinsman Governor Adeleke, he advised him to wake up. He fleshed out his advice by letting him know “that they are plotting against him.” He finally added that if, however, APC decides to “bring in Oyetola” as their gubernatorial flag bearer , “that’s his red flag”.
