Veteran Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor reminisced her ordeal prior to her rise to stardom.

The actress who spoke at pre-premier of Funke Akindele’s forthcoming movie: “Everybody loves Jenifa”, likened Funke Akindele’s doggedness, commitment, and determination to that of her personality.

She noted that Funke Akindele’s resilience has distinguished her and earned her a deserving legacy in the Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

The actress revealed that her ability to withstand and surmount her personal challenges brought her to limelight. According to her, she used to work at a mortuary where she took care of corpses necessary for her to cater for her family needs.

She is quoted to have said: “Funke Akindele is a very strong woman. I love strong women. I am a strong woman. I went through thick and thin to become who I am today. I used to go to the mortuary to dress dead bodies so my children could go to school and eat. I did a lot of things to make my family what they are today”.

Why Funke Akindele’s marriage life has been punctuated with controversies which though had no effect on her envious career, Patience Ozokwor’s husband is said to have died a few years into their marriage leaving her with their children to fend for.

Interesting, the actress boasted that women of her community now draw strength from her resilience as a mother who did not allow the travails of life derail her life’s mission.
