Notable Nigerian gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey has narrated how he got the connection through which he was invited to perform at Donald Trump inaugural prayer breakfast.
Nathaniel Bassey, a household name in the Nigeria gospel song industry, was reported to have received an invitation to perform at Donald Trump’s inaugural prayer breakfast; the singer had in his reaction to the report noted that he was not invited to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony on 20th of January, 2025, as was widely reported on the social media.
According to him, he was only invited to perform at Donald Trump’s inaugural prayer breakfast. He said he was invited to the program by prominent American pastor, Reverend Merrie Turner whom he said called him over the phone to offer the invitation.
Nathaniel Bassey made thiNaths known to the public during his ministration at Pastor Poju Oyemade’s World Faith Believers Convention (WOFBEC), he said Reverend Merrie Turner through a phone call, invited him to Trump’s inaugural prayer breakfast to come and release God’s prayer upon the United States of America and its citizens.
Reverend Merrie Turner claimed to have been told by God while she was in prayer to invite Nathaniel Bassey to the program.
“I was in prayer, and the Lord says to me to send for you to come release the glory of God upon our Nation”, statement accredited to Reverend Merrie Turner by Nathaniel Bassey during his ministration at Pastor Poju Oyemade’s World Faith Believers Convention (WOFBEC).
Nigerians had received the news of Nathaniel Bassey invitation to perform at Donald Trump’s inaugural prayer breakfast with wide jubilation especially as the singer’s appearance at the program amounts to putting Nigeria in global limelight
