FG reveals how much vice president earns annually

The Nigeria government has highlighted the total amount the occupant of the Nigeria vice president position earns in allowance and salary annually.

 

The disclosure was made by the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), is the body with the statutory responsibility of implementing and monitoring of disbursement of money from the Federal Account.

 

According to RMAFC, the vice president of Nigeria earns the sum of N12,126,290 (twelve million one hundred and twenty six thousand, two hundred and ninety naira) annually.

This comprises the vice president’s basic salary and total allowances.

Precisely, the Nigerian vice president has his annual basic salary at N3,031,572.50 (three million, thirty one thousand, five hundred and seventy two naira, fifty Kobo). This according to the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission means that the vice president earns N252,631.04 as his monthly payment.

 

The vice president aside his basic allowance, is entitled to hardship allowance which is 50% of his basic salary to the tune of N1,515,786.25 annually.

 

The most substantial allowance to the office of the vice president is the consistency allowance which amounts to 250% of the vice president’s basic salary. This consistency allowance stands at N631,577.60 monthly and N7,578,931.25 annually.

 

These allowances are to enable the vice president run his office and carry out his duties effectively.

 

Aside these allowances explicitly disclosed by the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, the vice president is entitled to other allowances such as vehicle maintenance and fueling allowance, allowances for his aides, personal assistants, utilities, security, entertainment, newspaper and others.

The total sum of the vice president allowances in addition to his basic salary amount to N12,126,290 annually and monthly: N1,010.524.

 

Reports also claim that the Nigerian president earns N14,058,820 annually. This implies that he earns N1,171,568 monthly.

 

The Nigerian state-governors is said to be earning N7,782,968 annually, that’s N648.581 monthly. These figures were given by the chairman of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Muhammed Shehu.
