Niger Delta leader, chief Oweizidei Thomas Ekpemupolo widely known as Tompolo while speaking to Arise Tv on 25th of April, reviewed president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and the political development in Rivers state.
Tompolo who had a few weeks ago at his birthday anniversary, declared that suspended governor of Rivers state, will be reinstated, has reiterated his stance.
The Niger Delta leader disclosed that he understands that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu whom he described as “democratic” will not engage in acts that violates the Nigeria’s constitution and capable of destabilizing the nation.
He claims that president Tinubu is doing “everything possible to ensure Fubara’s return” because the president believes in democracy and would not truncate it.
Speaking on the performance of the Tinubu’s administration, Tompolo appealed to Nigerians to understand the groundworks being done by Tinubu for Nigeria’s breakthrough. He enjoined Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu’s administration whose efforts will soon start to yield positive results.
Also, he pleaded with Nigerians to ensure the reelection of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to complete his two terms noting that the president is a good person with rich experience to tackle Nigeria’s challenges. He added that until the president has concluded his two terms, no one else should be linked to the presidency.
He vowed to engage in negotiations and campaigns within the Niger Delta region and to the northern region to convince those in the said regions to vote for president Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. He explained that former president Muhammadu Buhari was allowed to complete his tenure without political tensions and resistance, so should president Bola Ahmed Tinubu be allowed to complete his two terms.
However, reactions generated by Tompolo’s declaration of absolute support for the president question his sincerity. Netizens pointed out that the former Niger Delta militant leader due to his dealings with the Tinubu’s government, is required to protect and project the interest of the government that offered him pipeline survelliance contract worth 48 billion naira; as such, he would for his personal interest, throw his support behind the president.
